R 74 1963 C. alpina 17 June Barrow, Alaska Nest located on edge 28' polygyn - in Clump of grass, which was surrounded by mossy lichen. The eggs were 40% covered by over- hanging grass. No bird was displaying in the immediate area. Nest count was one bird near 10.4. A nest was located 10' SO / Stake 4,02 Trophy 6 - Beeler Key. Pitfall trap. - Incubating bird - jumped off a nest + flew 30'. Could not see eggs while egg's sweet book- giving the louder singing bird is heard &. - 4 eggs - located - grass-polygyn (1') - eggs - 57% covered - cup-grass block - lined. Very little display activity was heard in the evening. Two male songs from birds along the beach ridge. 18 June 2 Nests (#6 + 7) - 1 hour SE 1 South's alt (apt) are 20 yds south of the lagoon - both had 4 eggs & 87% were incubating. One (#6) was on a tall ledge - covered polygyn- eggs 96% covered. #7 was in tall grass - 70% covered, eggs 19 June Bird hard to locate in breeze ridge - Never a pair found - trap near SE 1 Mox. Stotia - no nest -
