Holmes.R. 1963 C. alpea 6 June Banae, Alaska No nest; she gave no call or distraction display. She returned to the nest very soon after 1 minute away. Several pairs / clinker seen between Birkar Volk areas & display were heard from a distance. The breaking was seen at 12 in 7 sa - approx 2/Sec. 7 June Several displays heard - Elsa bluff - + 1 nest cup display seen - where 3' settled into cup after giving the dry full note described pge 6: The E was only 3-4 inches away - "looking" at the D. After 10 sec, both birds moved away feeding. Six displays along Von bluff. 8 June A chorus a village flat bluff - little pair - call not heard. One display bird met Elsa - 1 displaying bird collected a non-stone & wobblingly flew. 9 June 2 pairs seen between Fertilin prot + Muck Creek - both feeding in Sireel (line 10' dia, off 20' dia) patch exposed Tundra. Birds flying down for aerial display - set wings a sharp V & glider for 50' towards the ground, Jerry runn-tub - He landed
