flew off but returned again (to the F -
who had not moved since first
shot) + the time he was mortally
wounded.
6 June Several aerial displays were seen near
Worth Area & along vellage slough -
all brown turgid were in pairs - no flocking-
A NEST with 4 eggs was being
incubated by the F; the M was in the
vicinity + formed the F at a distance
40 yds from the nest; the M went on to
give an aerial display. - The nest
was located 10 yards west village
slough on the side of a large (5 acre)
open area - The cup was located in sparse
grass-sedge, it was lined with wet lichens, moss,
& cut grass blocks. The pinnufin was
16" deep + 2 had trouble staking.
A SECOND NEST with 4 eggs the F
incubating found 30' east of Voth Road - 100
yds. south of Britten's Area. Located on
low flat, grass-sedge covered polygon.
Nest lined with cut grass. & flushed off
when I was 30 yds away, flew low over
the tundra for 10', landed + picked at
ground several times + watched as it approached
