30 may Barrow / Alaska
one feeding on Voln Creek bluffs. Fwry
he flew short distances & gave the bill
as he landed (also wings were held
up).
31 May: 1 feeding between Wolf-toot-pik sloughs,-
3 south lookpik. All were wary & would
not allow close approach. When one landed
after being flushed, it kept both wings above
its head slightly flared out & vocal-
whilst it gave a whining (=trill). This
was the only display activity noted.

1 June Two feeding together between Wolf-toot-pik-
no where seen - nor heard - These
Birds are very scarce so far - Some there
are laying nests along Elze Bluffs,
where we now exposed & very few
Dunlin.
