Holmes,R 1963 Calidni alpine 25 may Barrow, Alaska -First seen by Mulla on this date - not see on 23 may. 27 may An individual seen and well-behaved near Elsin Wohlschlag - feeding in grass-edge area and bluffs. Five other individuals noted Note! One location - both feeding. Three and one individual lifted its head and gave the trill which normally accompanies the alpine display. The provocation for these outbursts are unknown. 28 may None seen or heard in drum area - nor Barrow - Wohlschlag locale. Just note 1 Ookpik (sloop) - 2 seen flying (Chuwing?) , Landing - the last with wings held up for half second. One flew off and gave the full aerial song - with kraan on the hill. Lark, a chase with 3 birds involved - ? 29 may Two seen south / ookpik - chasing - appeared to be area-conflict. The chaser continued to follow behind the other until a certain point, at which it returned and flew north along the bluff. No others seen or heard along Elsin Wohlschlag. None seen or heard in evening on BR, near Wohlschlag - near Elsin Wohlschlag.
