Eroha alpina
25 aug Barrow, Alaska
a flock of 7 immature + 3 lone
individuals were found - feeding along the
wet sand edges. Two were associated
with m. Limnodromus. The adults,
were seen on the south side of the beach
ridge - near the gull line - all three showed
at least half of the black belly - but
some molted.
It seems that most of the adults have
departed - except for small groups +
lovers - where, as immature are
still here (or are moving through) +
there are congregating - mostly all
on shore or gravel parts (adjacent)
In the afternoon - a group of 14 immature +
1 adult were in gravel pit - near Britha's
Area.
26 Aug 6-8 immature in Britha's Gravel Area
-several heard near the float plan - layer &
I saw flying over Gull Lake. Some
Hail / Starlings (mostly Phalangia,
I believe) were seen along the
Sandsprut layer - SW of Point Lay -
some I then appeared to be
Dunlin - but not identified,
not positive.
