16 Aug Barnes, Harker
One group of 2 and 4 in the area NE of
the magnetic station - two were used for
flying feeding operations. Free flying
immatures - independent /or adults
were also noted.
Later afternoon - 3 immatures were in the
gravel ponds near Britton's Area + 4 more
scattered along the edge of Sour Salt Lagoon.
At the south end /the lagoon - a flock of 16
Adults meeting individuals were found
feeding on a sandy lake edge (sand) were
standing in "bubbles" depressions and were clustered
together - while 8-10 immatures were seen
out in usual moult feeding behavior.
17 Aug - Flock /7 Ad. in No. 1 Area - feeding with
polygons troughs & ridges.
18 Aug - Groups of 8 on muddy north salt lagoon - in
company with mauri, + Limnodromus scolopaceus.
All were adults same in terminal molt
stages. Two immatures were seen later
along the same lagoon - they were
not accompanied by adults.
Near Brant Pt., a flock of 6 adults
was found - feeding in the port
Cove marsh - where feeding was
mostly by jabs. No immature seen
in this area - but halfway back
