Texas 25' away - gave two alarm notes
(Beep) + landed - 30' off h. Notice
The flight used when leaving
D. nut was a shallow
rapid wing beat similar to Pter
Medi. aerial display - The
bird min went over in 3'
off the ground. It stood at our distance
label I examine the nest - contained
One alarm note & occasional 2 three-
parted call. It flew again-
about 100' circling me at the nest -
landed r gave three bills - beedeek
sad resemble, The bills fin
during Pter. tentant display but
weaker. The nest contained one egg-
all white showed signs (piggery). -
One probably would die out tonight - and
the other three by tomorrow morning.
23 July large flock 1 North 87°7' + 99' in Mt. Tawalena
near Ponds K+M [No. 1074]. The group was
flushed & they all landed together (18+) -
The scattered out as they began to feed.
Body molt was not obvious. The gap by
wings seems to be about closed. Note
some 1st Secondary covert seen Feb
1962.
