14 July Barrow, Alaska
along Reprel edge and in Dr block
mewels. Three (Three) were collected
[#1637-39]. No family groups were under
anywhere in field today.
16 July No display heard on the flat today. Only 1
nut was still present. The 8 left in
nut when I was 10' away - by standing
up - flew 4' settling with sweep
in and - saw part of tree - r-
floed off lawn - a ground, lands
10' away - from a short burst flight
when One squealing could be heard.
One stood upright - group 2 seen?
Nah, nah, nah - spent alarm notes.
A flock / 12 were seen 16' east ?
In wannigan - feeding on the slope &
among the pond ["lowlands"]. No other
seen today.
17 July Flock of 8 found on beachridge - so. of ATCS
4 collected - see catalog. No young found
today. Snow flock 1 dot was located
by J.A. Fullmer near Vol Area. Then
flock must be birds that have
failed to bring off successful brood-
since the earliest hatching was
just a few weeks ago. On this coast
be [illegible] reported numbers are taking off?
