Nest #10. Bird left nest while I was 100' away
flew S. south, utlenin several hills (3) - not
seen down next two minutes
Nest #8. - Bird flew off when I was 50' away -
flyng low to S - landed at 76' - no bill
given - bird not heard until 2mm-
away, where it gave The B:FEFP -
alar note.
Nest #7. Flushed off - with wings flapping &
loud squawk call given - when I was
6' away. Flushes off. Half flying, half-
running - looking both over the shoulder.-
The taking flight across the pond - still
maintains a partial clubtail just
with tail depressed & partly spread.
landed on the side in roebuck pattern -
rant wound - stood upright for
ral-ral-rol- The ran off, rock-
through - followed me
for 10' - several ral-rols as 8mm
notes.
Call NOTES
These seem to be two primary alar
notes - which may be given a different
pitch? ) ral-ral-ral... - aggressive or
offensive note given when my
bird is suffered for treatment
& stones, to defend itself. Some
