LLW018 1963 Aimophila bottenii July 23 a 3rd ♂⚥ has started singing to SW. - 3 ♂⚥ are in a Δ. ♂1 - now(06/15) in tree 100 yards N of original location. 1 foot from top of 10-12 foot tree, then moves up to exposed perch - not highest, but highest horizontal. 1 song went continuously for 17 sec. + ended c 2 sweet notes after the trill. 0620 - changed perches in tree - sang one song then sang again as flew down to ground. sang another as flew up to 1½ foot horizontal bare branch of shrub. Now have a 4th ♂⚥ singing to NW of #1 y. 1 3: 2 N highway ♂1 ♂⚥ to S. 30+ yards to top of 2½ foot shrub - again singing ♂#4 still singing + I thought ♂/ ♀ had gone to this area to sing against ♂#4. ♂#4 now quiet (0625) as are ♂♂#2 & #3. Perhaps ♂1 is an unmarked bird. 0630 - ♂#4 singing very low intensity 75+ yards to NW of #1. ♀/ down and pass + ♂#3 begins to sing. ♂#1 back up to same perch singing just as lands. - facing to NE. ♂#4 still on horiz. perch to WW. his "song" consists mostly of short chips. ♂#1 flies & flight song ending just then
