LLWSH 1964 Aimophila actaualis June 23 1/2 mi. S, Boykin Springs, Jasper Co, Texas 1041 - adult flew up from nearest sharp chips - announced by chirp from ? n 1/2 between box of pine & nest. Then fluttered 2-3 feet across tops of grasses chasing are inset. ? had apparently fed yg. 1042 - ? sitting above me just to cast while singing while ? forages. hear soft trys from ? + soft chips - often in series from ? 1045 - ? singing soft songs, ? chirping softly a simply chips. flew up from grass & lands on ground 10 feet W of nest. 1045.5 - yg fed by ?. ?? soft songs. 1047 - ? to NE 30 more feet sings once from perch 5' off then drops to ground. left area. 1730 - back here to collect adults. chased ? around & finally collected her after she flew up from ground to near top of 40 foot pine. Went over to look at young. As pushed out of nest - all flew from nest. Managed to catch 3 amidst much chirping + squealing. Dick shot an adult & then heard another adult chirping excitedly. Finally located just over our heads about 75 feet E of nest. Collected & proved to be another ? likely attracted by chirping of young. Also collected another ? to SE SW of #1.
