Boykin Springs, Jasper Co., Texas 0647 - back to tree W & then to tree E (15-18' up). 0651 - drops down to 7-8' up + near center of tree but on outer ends of branch. chirping regularly + bobbing wing & tail each 0652 - drops to ground at base of W. - other adult flies in to E from 4/5 0653 - young begging after short chatter series. 0654 - adult feeding fly up into tree w/chirping sharply then leaves. 0659 - young begging for > 30 sec. 0659,5+ - adult flies from nest area 50+ yards N/W where lost from sight. 0701 - chirping adult into tree toward then to W then E (0701,5) carrying green larva or katydid. Bird on bare part of live limb (20' up; 1" dia.). looks to be a katydid for sure. 0706 - adult hops along limb toward trunk then drops to dead branches 7-8' up then to ground (070?) 0707,5 - young begging for > 20 sec. adult made several loud chips on approach. 0712 - hear young start begging punctuated by series of chatter notes - this repeated several times during while an adult flies into W. then > 30 sec. begging 0713,5 - adult in W has food in bill; drops home in tree. chirping sharply occasionally. other adult flies into E as 1st changes position. 0716 - 1st to ground & young beg > 30 sec. 2nd in E chirping as 1st flies off. 0719, 2nd quiet. 0722 - series of chatter notes + 4/5 drops lower in E.
