1/2 mi. S. Boykin Springs, Jasper Co., Texas
0853- hear young begging - continued for 2+ minutes. Always must be approaching from 10+ yards on ground as no adult moved into trees above nest.
0901- hear young begging
0918- young begging. lasted for > 1 min.
0925- have been hearing thin chips as if adult(s) foraging in grass in vicinity of nest. Not sure that young aren't making this noise.
0931.5- young begging for 42+ sec.
0950 - hear occasional loud chips few ft of nest, 0953- located adult with katydid (?) (green with thin wings) in bill about 40 yards to W. sitting in shade (6-7-8 up) in some species of short needle pine.
1004.5 - down to ground W of nest. had moved 15 feet closer. About at about 0955: Then sat chirping. Works toward nest on ground.
1007 - young begging, lasts for x 1 minute.
1642- adult in NW (30') tree with food. Has been there 7+ min. chirping softly.

Went back at 1630 to check nest. Still contained one white egg, probably lay in early morning.
