LLUST 1963 Aimophila semichrasti August 18 4 mi.E. Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico Found pairs spaced throught their forest. Distance apart 20+ yards. & & singing. One seen singing in top of 20 foot tree. Was slightly above surrounding canopy & exposed. Young John reported that young bird collected today came up from ground after 2 of 3 adult-plumaged birds were collected. Apparently young of this species out of the nest ride on or run ground in dense cover. Perhaps do some foraging for themselves. adults+ young 2 birds collected of 3 with jws. proved to be & + imms. ?. Appears as if young greater nesting alltogether in adult plumage stay with parents during 2nd brood. Not sure if they contribute to raising 2nd brood. August 14 2 1/2 mi.E. Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico 2360- broad path, light body molt. Aug 19 5 mi.e. of Tehuantepec, Oax. eggs 1. 22 x 17 mm 2. 22 x 17 mm 3. 22 x 17 mm nest 15" above ground in low shrub. gresses make up outer cup & lined with rootlets. nest is thin + one can see thru bottom of cup at various points. nest
