LLWOLF 1964. Acanthys rubiceps March 15 (2) 10:05 - flushed bird again from near base of small (8") Artemesia. Into Artemesia then downhill to another, lit in center of bush. Worked to top giving tzect notes (flier upwards). Gave one "dee" note + dove into lower parts of Artemesia, then work back to top (24") giving tzect notes. Then downhill to large (7') Baccharis, one of small clump in midst of grassy slope. Lit on bare branch ~ 2' up + then disappeared. Car near bird giving tzect notes but not visible - may have been brown tawher seen in grass to SE of Baccharis clump. 10:25 - flushed [illegible] again from Baccharis clump. Flew into lower branches of Baccharis - giving occasional tzect notes - then nearly to ground + fly 5' to 2nd Baccharis. Then uphill to area of Artemesia from which early had left. Disappeared. As I approached to 5-10 feet flew 15 feet further uphill giving occ. tzects. Then flew again mostly parallel to hill + lit in outer branches of Baccharis about 6-8" above ground. Then dropped down to ground & disappeared going into thick center of Baccharis stand. 10:35 - still in Bac. stand. up to branch 2 feet up + then back to ground. Forage in shade (+ in cover) to SSW. When reach edge of Artemesia cover just below me flew to W + lit for near where originally seen. Disappeared.
