20 miles east of Mazatan, Sonora, Mexico
When I flushed family group they all flushed almost together. All were low in shrubby or on ground.
Began giving series of harsh chip notes. Attend in groups of notes with pauses between.
Found several lone or??singing from exposed perches.
Appears that birds may be at least double brooded.
Habitat has become much more verdant. Herb layer is now 4-5 feet tall in many places + very dense. Some areas under closed canopy still is relatively open + easy to move thru. Birds seemed to be mostly in the denser shrubs + herbs, but not in complete open (no trees) where consobralus + other weeds are almost impenetrable.
