LL Wolf 1964 Arnotila mystacalis August 24 16½ mi. sw. Matatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico km-616 it too dropped toward ground. 0820-flushed one of pair E (uphill from N + across + uphill from NW) from ground. up into lower (6-8 foot.) branches of tree just below ridge. began treet notes, a 2nd bird flew into far side of same tree. 1st dropped to ground & 2nd sat "fretting". As I walked then 2nd flew uphill slightly + along ridge to E. 1st came up from ground into lower branches of tree where full-winged. After 20+ sec. also flew off to E. 15+ sec. after arrival heard chatter, dust - probably when pair moved slightly farther to E. 0838- one of pair E had apparently worked down on side of ridge & W while on other side. One on S side began treet notes + flew up to over top of 20 foot tree on ridge. then with chut notes flew down to join others. Chatter dust. one followed by other, then flew along slope to E where another chatter dust when landed. After 10+ sec. flew to SE slightly uphill - one following other - short chatter when landed. 0845- one of pair E foraging in canopy layer of 15+ foot tree in area of essentially closed canopy. As moved around in canopy drops of water shook from leaves. 0851- ذ E began treet notes, gave one two-parted introductory note then flew off to E. where gave treet notes followed by an short song then quiet. 0855- treet notes from area where ذ seen.
