August 16 16½ mi. SW. Matatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico branch. After which it bice wiped + then dropped to ground as agiley as the adults - after perching at nearby foliage for 5½ sec. Apparently is able to can for itself, but still being fed by adults. Sang for 10-15 sec twice - 10:30 + 10:55. Vocalizations - chip note given much of time when apparently startled by my presence; chatter series (high, thin) - given occasionally when around young; high, thin trill - apparently given by young. 11:30 - 12:05 - watched pair 2 foraging. The only good observations were of one of pair twice picking a small red berry. First time stayed in tree and mandibulated berry several times before finally swallowing it. Then picked the 2nd & dropped toward ground + disappeared. Did not see any capture but again birds were foraging from 1-8 feet up + varily higher or lower. Did drop to ground several times, but too hidden by brush to observe. August 24 16½ mi. SW. Matatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico 05:40 - heard first song of morning. Moon was full + there were few clouds.
