LLW015 1964 Azimphila humeralis July 29 Caim de Lobos, 3mi. E. Cuernavaca, 4800 +/- ft., Morelos, Mexico 0907 - are out to tree #2 where 2 chattered. Then at least two flew off to N side of gully when chattered then moved farther N where chatted again followed by chatter of pair #1 which then flew up hill to S edge of gully just below tree #2 + chatted again. Not sure where 3rd bird fits in relative pairs 1 + 3. 0933 - pitz-a notes from pair 3 on N side of gully. Chatter to NW them (or may be 3 birds - one pitz-a + 2 chatter out together). There more pitz-a + quiet. 0942 - pair #1 chattered from tree at S edge of gully followed by chatter of pair #3 well to NW. Pair #1 frozes in partly defoliated tree + pair #3 moves down + chatters again. 0945 - pair #1 drops downhill 10 +/- yds to bare ground at S edge of gully + chatters followed (60 +/- sec) by chatter of pair #3 50+ yd to N- have moved downhill. Near one of pair #1 chirping at edge of gully. 0956 - both of pairs fly downhill. One perches 7 feet up on dead branches along gully. Other turns S + lands in shrubs when begins pitz-a. Other flies over + chatters. At same time one of pair 3 gives several pitz-a calls from S edge of gully by tree #2. 0959 - pair #1 chatters again. While bird of pair #3 along gully continues sharp chipping. 1001 - flies to N edge of gully + pitz-o followed by pitz-a from downhill to NE (50-75 yds.) Two birds came together in partly defoliated tree about 1/2 way between 2 + chatter. Then quiet until 1003 when one followed by other flies 100 +/- yds to NW + chatters. 1006 - #3 sings series of three songs - one right after other.
