35 LL Wolf 1964 Amphitila humeralis July 27 Canyon de Lobos, N.E. Cuenavaca, 4800± ft., Morelos, Mexico 0550 - one of nest #1 singing ↓ ...... from 20-30 yds. below the nest. Sang for 5 minutes then heard pitz-a calls + chatter from top of 15 foot tree downhill + fos of nest 70±yds. Both birds facing uphill & 4" inches apart. F not in nest which contains 2 eggs, 1 newly hatched young plus its eggshell. 0605 arrived at area of pairs 1-3 to observe. 0620 - pair #3 chatters from 100±yds. S of gully. 0625 - pair #1 chatter from tree downhill from tree #1, one bird then stops towards ground - another chatter. 0626 - pair #3 pitz-a notice as fly toward gully. pair #2 chatters followed by pair #3. pair #3 then chatters from further downhill closer to tree #2. 0627 - one of pair #1 up into tree #1, giving pitz-a calls. two birds then into shrubs 10±yds uphill + then into tree #1. Two of the three birds chatter - nonchatter above other 2. one of two then flies up to non-chatterer + two flutter downward together separate + one of this pair plus third bird (not fluttering) chatters. then one bird flies off toward tree #2 & pair #1 flies downhill 15-20 yds. & chatter followed immediately by chatter of pair #3 from tree #2. 0637 - sun up pair #1 chatters from SE of tree #1. 0637.5 - pair #3 up into tree #2 when chatter from uphill side followed by chatter of pair #1 from downhill of tree #1. pair #3 focuses for 15± sec & then hear several chips as moves to N. side of gully where chatter followed immediately by chatter of pair #1 from "rock orange" 6-7 feet tall. two birds 6-8 inches from top r
