0650 - Hear two pitza notes followed by chatter from near boundary of pair #1 & #3, after 10± secs another chatter from slightly uphill - pair #3.
0652 - 2 successive chatters from area #1, but probably was 2 pairs.
0656 - Several pitza notes precede chatter by pair #3. (5 side flyby).
0701 - Two pitza notes from area of gully precede chatter by pair #3 from gully. Long chatter which is joined by chatter of pair #1. Pair 3 flies to S + hear pitza notes. Then chatter twice in succession - then short chatter from edge of gully followed immediately by pitza from tree #2.
One bird from edge of gully then flies up to tree #2 + chatter follows.
0705 - Two pitza notes from area #3 (or #1) no chatter, after 30-40 secs silence pitza notes from area #1 & #3 - two calling birds separated by 30-40 yds. Then pair flies into small tree area #3 & #1 boundary at S edge of gully. Chatter - pair #3 (first same pair) flies to N side of gully to 7 foot tree when chatter near top. Both wings flicking - one left - one right predominantly. Then fly uphill 20± yds. where chatter again then fly off to NW + out of sight.
0720 - Pair #1 chatters followed immediately by pair #3 100±yds. & N gully.
0755 - Pair #5 chatters followed immediately by chatter 75± yds uphill. Then this uphill pair chatters followed by a nearby pair.
0758 - Pair #3 chatters from N side of gully.
0810 - Found pair foraging uphill from area #1 & #3. In very thick shrubby second growth up to 6-8 feet tall. Mostly "rock borage". Make nearly continuous cover + to open areas of grass. Foraging in shrubs up to mid-height + down close to ground below tops of taller shrubs. Thin, but harsh foot notes may be young out garter.
