LW015 1964 Atrophila humeralis July 24 Cañon de Lobos, 7mi. E. Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico 0836 - one of pair #5 up into tree with single pitz-a. then flutters as tries to pull something from canopy foliage. Then series of fits-- notes + generally chatter from just uphill & in shrubs. Followed by chatter well 6 a.s. 0846 - just uphill again pair chatters - both initially facing SE, then one turns so facing W. on dead shrub 6± feet up. Both wing flicking - one right wing very vigorously - other alternating notes vigorously. 0854 - pair #5 up into tree farther upstream where chatters. as approach pitz-a calls & fly 20± yds to SW when start chatter - then stop as move up one branch. Then chatter again from dead horizontal branch - 7 feet up, facing at 180° ±2 to each other. then quiet. both then fly 40± yds to SE (downhill) - at least one giving pitz-a notes & chatters on landing. 0910 - found pair #3 foraging in low shrubs ~70± yds W of tree #2 (uphill). flushed up onto bare perch 7' above ground & chattered. One then dropped toward ground. 1 minute later 2 flew up into low shrub & chattered 2± feet above ground, then into dense slumbering low to ground. Pair #5 chattered SE & pair #3 flew up to tree on S side of gully & chattered, then disappeared. 0926 - Series of pitz-a notes from NE of tree #2 ~40± yds (on N side of gully). pair flits up into tree (partly defoliated) + chatters. followed by pitza note from just downhill & then chatter - possibly pair #1. pair on N side of gully flies off to NW 70± yds & chattering, then chatter again from further to N - apparently a boundary dispute,
