LL WOLF 1964 Aimophila humeralis July 15 Cañon de Lobos, Pni. E. Guanacaste, Morelos, Mexico 0128- ∂ foraging in shrubs 15±yds. to NE of nest. Silent. 0834- ∂ now downhill from nest. flew up onto bare portion of shrub & 8±feet up where but-wiped then sat quietly, 0845- reunion chatter from downhill. response from less far downhill than several more chatters for downhill. Probably mother pair + answer possibly by ∂ of nest. Have not seen him 0835 when dropped drone from exposed elevated perch in shrub. 0915 - checked nest & found adult gone + 2eggs in nest. Apparently ♀ had gone on at 0815 to lay egg. Had noted earlier in morning that she had a swollen abdomen so of carrying an egg ready to lay. July 16 Cañon de Lobos, Pni. E. Guanacaste, Morelos, Mexico checked nest at 0610. 2 eggs. Both adults nearby & began dipping when approached. First call was short chatter. Beggs at 1145. Fast on nest. July 17 Cañon de Lobos, Pni. E. Guanacaste, Morelos, Mexico When arrived at campore at 0535 sky was just tinged with orange in east. ∂∂ singing their - - - song. Did not hear first chatter until 0543. By 0548 most were giving chatter, but did hear a few ∂∂ still singing. 0730. adult incubating on nest. 0835- found pair of adults, first heard sharp chip notes - then both flew up onto bare portions of limbs + gave chatter call.
