Aimophila humeralis began wing quivering slightly with bill partly open. One adult immediately flew down & hopped over to side of young. I then left to get shotgun. 2103 - Good patch #2204 - back met #1 pinning 3/4 grown rest & veniges old. #1 rectrices 5/6 grown rest old. postnupt. 2205 - refaathering brood patch, light back, rump, + scapula met. postnupt. 2206 - back + ventral molt light. 2207 - edematous brood patch - 1st? #2210-2212- off & on, just that I followed for hour or more on morning of Aug. 8 - see species accounts. postnupt. 2211 - refaathering brood patch, fine feelers on throat, generally body molt heavy on back + scap. #1 rectrices missing. 2212 - L prot. & cul. body plumage fresh. 2217+2218- collected while tweet chattering. 2217 - light back molt. 2218 - brood patch - light back molt. 2219 - upper back new - mid-back molting - singing when collected at 1145. postnupt Birds today seemed to be in pairs of adults. Possibly after young have nest (or after nesting starts) the adults do not associate in groups as before. If this is true it may account for mysticalis being found
