90 LLWOLF Amophila cassini July 7 Wilder Wildlife Foundation, San Patricio Co., Texas 0715- flushed bird of year from grass around clump of Zanthoxylum & Celtis in terr. #5. Flew into nearby tree after branches of Celtis about 4 up then moved out trends + was completely exposed- had awtail, streaks on chest and slightly brownish chest. Could not make out any jew. feathers but those giving coverts appeared to be. moved into interior of Celtis + then out to exterior of Zanthoxylum. Here sat quietly - a few Pyrroluxia flew in from 3-4' away + moved toward Cassini. Cassinis hopped slightly interioral + then back to exterior - larger bird did not seem any alarming - sat with tail slightly above horizontal + flicking occasionally. moved into interior of shrubs + dis appeared. # Pyrroluxia flew in to top of Celtis 30-40' to NE + chattered jew. Keyr joined it + calling became more intense. Sounds almost like chatter of Brown Towhees but much slower. Jew Cassini appeared at top of his Celtis + flew over 56 only 1-2' from few Pyrroluxia - then to top interior of that Celtis after cd. #few Pyrroluxia left. Disappeared. plants used for perches by SD#2: 1. Celtis 2. Prosopis 3. Lycium 4. Prosopis 5. Celtis + Zanthoxylum 6. Prosopis 7. Zanthoxylum 8. scattered small shrubs 9. scattered small shrubs. 10. dead Prosopis top. 11. Prosopis 12. Prosopis 13. Prosopis 14. Celtis & Berberis trifoliata + Zanthoxylum 15. ?
