28 LLWolf 1964 Almophila cassinii July 1 Welder Wildlife Foundation, San Patricio Co., Texas 0907 - bird up into perch #2 - about 2 way up in 8' bush. Well-wired. 0911- & #2 singing - go over them for rest of morning's work. unable to locate & #2 so looked for & #1 & #3 of June 30 - close to Mesquite Tank. Unable to find either. Wind so much stronger than yesterday will work rest of morning comparing activities of & #2 of June 30 to July 1. & #2 0940 - perch song flight 0942 - flight song to #10 then flight song to #2 wind blowing in about that direction & bird seemed to be carried by wind, 150% flying T wind. from perch #2 delivered perch songs ###T#X# 0949- 0951 - 6 songs in 2 min. then quiet. not sure if left perch 3/min. or not. perch 0957 - flight song to perch #3 where perched on W side but on exposed perch. gave 2 perch songs then flight song to #2, then (0958) gave 23 perch songs ###T#X# from interior of bush- on horizontal limb a 3' above ground (bird is bare + shade is provided by overhead branches. Wind blowing branches alternately puts bird in shade + sun. mostly in sun. & #3 sang 3 times at 1002. & #4 at 1004. /1006.5- & #2 flight song to perch #3, followed by 2 more flight songs - 2nd ended near perch #10- prob. on ground. then silent. cluster 1010 - to perch #3 with flight song. then perch songs ###T#X# 1016.5- & #1 gave chuf song near N corner of mesquite tank. & #2 then with flight song 30-40 yards to SE into what I thought was edge of ten, of & #1. & #5 sang once,
