LL Wolf 1964 32 Aimophila cassini June 30 Welder Wildlife Foundation, San Patricio Co., Texas 0723 - dropped to ground from song flight to area #8. flew up from near Operatia in clumps of short mesquite. flight sang to 10 yds. farther west when dropped to ground again. 0725 - flight song to #1. where sang several perch songs then flight song to #3. 0735 - flight song to ground Wg #4. on ground for 1/2min. then flight song to #2 (onto ground) (0736). Quiet until 0739.5 when flight song back to #3. 0740 - 17 songs to 0845. flight 11% perch 29% to perch #: 3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3 Twice lit & 12" down from top of perch. First time gave one perch song + second time gave 6 consecutive perch songs (only 4 recorded in 5 min. period. then back to flight songs. direction of takeoffs in relation to direction landed on previous flight. same [illegible] = 25 180° III = 3 90° [illegible] = 12 45° [illegible] = 17 total 57 46% 43.8% 5.3% 56% 29.8% 60.6% 0750 - flight song above #3 then fluttering flight to SW where ended in another flight song. Then flight song to ground Wg #4 then flight song back to #3. 0751 - 2nd 45° deviation recorded bird flew over to ground W of #4 this spot 90° deviation from way perched.
