Aimophila cassinii June 29 Welder Wildlife Foundation, San Patricio Co., Texas. ♂#1 landed in top of hackberry after flight song. Another bird flew in + lit '2 way up. 2nd bird then flew to 30-40' free (lowered branch (4'up) + ♂ followed giving part of flight song. songs of ♂ #2 - 4 in 2 min not actively singing flight IIII perch O perch #2 - 0629 16 songs in 5 minutes. flight HHHHH1 perch HHH to same perch HHH 11 to different IIII used only three different perches - all within 20 1/2 yards of each other. most frequently used was top of 4' hackberry. next was some dead wood stems ~3' high. flight goes 20-25 feet in air. song starts about 5' below after + is finished 10+ feet before landing. 0637 - seemingly paid no attention to painted buntings that moved by a 20' in front of ♂ #2. 0639 - quiet 0640 - singing again have heard only one clist fl song + that from ♂ #3. not same circumstances. 0648 ♀2 - 5 songs in 1/4 min. flight II perch IIII same perches 1 different 1
