Then across to blackberry where sat on top dead branch 7' up. Another bird to E, chipping. ad. with food flew over embankment down to wheat & disappeared. slight 0722 - Two chipping + some continuous song to E. Pick this pair, (hereafter referred to as pair #8) habitat 0732 - bird chipping to S went across road. Then note adult hopping from area of lake shore toward Spartina across nearly bare area with some low Huisache + clumps of crabgrass. bird S of road flew east while joined by bird from N of road. heard chipping. 0734 - One birds back across road to blackberry carrying food & chipping dropped down to below vegetated top level of bush + flew to SW. Lost from view. 2nd bird (?) flew into top of blackberry carrying grasshopper + chipping. 1st bird flew out from area of crabgrass + flew across road to S. (0739). ? sat in top of blackberry chipping sharply + regularly. Changed positions + went three pre flight movements several times but didn't fly until ~ 0755. When flew to N. edge of Spartina. ? seizing across road & another ? singing 8 E. 100 yds. ? down to edge of Spartina + worked around in cover of composites. Several times hopped 1-2 feet out onto bare ground near separating edge of Spartina + clump of crabgrass from which ? came to N.
