0804- b in Agave / 100 yds e of nest - singing as flew in.
& continued singing - mostly continuous song that gave one
trill, then (0805) flew to #1 where sat chipping (<2 sec.) +
occas. tail & wing flicks. Then to W side #1 where sat ~ 2' up
chipping - 8 o'clock to S. of road singing.
0811.5- finicky flew to #4. Before flying changed perches several
times. Generally sat very quietly with regular chipping. Just
prior to flying to new perch or to new bush would begin rapid
series of tail cocking & spreading (flicking), which increased to
where also wing flicking & changing directions on perch.
Then to new spot where sat quietly again. When on #7
sat for several minutes then to another perch just S of
nest. Then dropped down to E & worked just below grass level
to 1' from nest. Then flew up to nearly tops of grass & dropped
down into nest, at nest for 44 sec. Flew out to NE +
circled around to #5 where dropped fecal sac.
0815- back to perch #1 & then disappeared, probably off to E.
0824- adult into Agave (#3) where chipping. Does not appear to
be carrying any food.
0826- dropped down from Agave still chipping.
0827- worked back to top of Agave.
0828- other adult into #1 with food in bill. ad from 3
flew over to #1 + gave reunion chatter. Then flew E 20+ yds.
& lit in grass. ad. with food flew over to W side of #1 where
sat ~ 2' up chipping softly. Sitting still.
