Sound metallic; also seem to vary slightly upitch giving a rolling effect to long series. Was at top of bunch. Then dropped into grass. When flushed flew to N toward Laguna Atascosa for 30+ yds. Had trouble flying in wind. Pumping flight. Up 18" up on horizontal portion - base - of 4' mesquite. Sang warbly song that contained many tzeeh notes. Was just above tops of grass 1649 - Same 5' up singing on top of 6', dead Celtis 20 yds to E of where last seen. Then flew further east 20+ yds + dropped into bunch grass, dropped nearly vertically. 1651 - Up on top of dead Celtis perch 20+ yds farther E. Singing continuous song - series of tzeeh notes with occasional dips to more musical notes + now fairly a dry trill. 1654 - Dropped into grass + silent. Wind blowing at 15 mph with stronger gusts. 1656* (702) - Up in top of dead shrub singing continuous song. Then flew SE for 30+ yds + dropped into mesquite-bunch grass around some small mesquites. 1709 - Then 20- yds to S & farther + dropped into area surrounded by bunch grass but with some bargoond + small huisache (15") + composites.
