LLwolf 1964 Melozona kieneri August 5 5+ W. Ewi E. Guenaraga, Morelos, Mexico adult flew off to NW. came chipping. one flies in close & cleeps while other 30+yds. NW of nest. close one flies off + her squeal ending in chr, chr, chr notes. then quiet. 0912 - adult silently flew from NW. fed young + then remained for 1/2 minute tugging or pushing at bottom of nest. even changed around to S side of nest for short time. 0916 - adult chipping off to NW, another to nest as chipping continues again after feeding young tugged or pushed at bottom of nest. Then flew off to NW where other bird chipping + squeal. both last feedings young her continued begging while adult at nest. is intermittent &ts fed + possibly stimulated by movements of nest as adult's actions cause shrubs to shake very perceptibly. 0941 - 0943 - adult silently flew from NW. young up, gaping, + begging as adult works at bottom of nest. twer up + fed young which then sank back down as adult moved to other side of nest + continued to work at bottom, flew off silently to NW. 0951 - adult into nest silently from NW. fed young which continued to beg as adult remained pushed on NW rim. adult raised crown feathers + flew off 5+ yds tow where chipped several times then flew farther + disappeared. 1005 - adult came in while I went to check out. flew off as I walked by on road then back just as I sat down to observe. did not seem to probe at bottom but did peer at bottom then flew off silently to NW. 1010 - bear adult chipping 5+ yds SW of nest. To nest at 1011 where fed young then sat on rim while young continued begging until adult left at 1016.5.
