LL Wolf 1964 Columbina passerina August 21 2 1/2 mi. E. Tehuantepec, 100+ ft., Oaxaca, Mexico found 2 nests today. both on ground at base of 2+ foot shrubs in open Acacia grassland. adult flushed from each nest in rain. both blue with depression - now muddy - 2nd had few bits of grass apparently placed around rim. 1st contained 2 young covered with down, but with flight feathers beginning to erupt. pile of feces on one side of nest. 2nd contained 2 white eggs that appeared to be fresh when held up to sunlight.
