Tucson Pima Co, Arizona
flushed adult from west 4 1/2 feet up in
Cholla. nest exterior of big giant twigs. lining
of plant down. bottom of nest not supported by
cholla branches, only support from side about
1/2 way up nest. many sticks on ground below
nest as if either many lost during construction or
bottom gradually collapsing.
Adult jumped off to ground. Ran low to
ground + nearly horizontal for 20-30 feet. Crouched
with feathers sleeked. Crouched low + ran horizontal
again. Repeated this several times until
disappeared from sight.
