LK W01F 1964 Orithurns superciliaris August 11 2 mi N Tres Cumbres, 9100+ ft, Morales Mexico 0626 - Bleeded adult from short grass between clumps of bunch grass. Flew up into lower (8-10ft) up) branches of nearby pine + began tzirit call. Joined in tree by a 2nd adult + then by a juvenile which came up from near when 1st bird was foraging. Juv + 2nd adult worked close together 10+feet up on bare portions of pine branches. 1st adult worked to W side of tree + then flew - flight direct + straight until just before landing when set wings + then flutter down to ground - 30+yds. So W + landed in bunch grass. Both 2 shaped 10-15 sec longer in tree then flew about 6ways to other 1st landed + also dropped into bunch grass. After 2-3 mins of foraging one adult flew back to electric linea near pine tree. 2nd adult flew into pine tree when sat preening. Another adult from N. flew into bunch grass near where two adults had been foraging + heard dry chatter. After 1-2 minutes in tree + electric wires both flew to edge of cleared area when foraged by hopping along ground. One went into bunch grass clump (checked later there were avenues of short grass between bunches). Then disappeared. Both flew up + to S as I approached. A juv joined 2 adults farther to W. Later saw two adults go back to area near where first seen. Adults + juv. moved in lower bunches of pine trees, at least once chipping. One adult then other flew off to E to land in lower branches of pine 30+yds away. Juv. stayed in tree + moved about branches + preened. Then flew off to SE to area from where first seen. Seemed to be two pairs of adults coming close together + young associating with both, but pairs remaining separated.
