Melozone kieneri Aug 22 About 9 mi. e. of Cuernavaca, Morelos, A presumed pair of this species was observed performing a "pair- duet"-type duet. The action does not appear to differ materially from the similar display of the Brown Towhee group. Two birds come together, either on perches or on the ground, and each admits a squealing series of notes. No special postures were observed during the per- formance.
