LK Wolf 1963 Chordeiles gramineus July 4 ni. NW Silver City, Grant Co., New Mexico Bear Mt. Saw young bird fly down to ground + disappear among scattered rabbit brush. Did not flush until I was 4-8 feet away. I checked area from which it walked away slowly + found a slightly disrupted, triangular nest. Young may have been in nest where flushed. Young full grown + appear to be undergoing post- precocial molt. An adult was seen 30 feet away in perige.
