June 27 Chondestes grammacus Lime, Ft. Huachuca, Cochise Co., Arizona #1885 - stomach - mostly insects. 1886 - stomach - 25% veg. 75% insects. last night I collected a juv. in company of adult. This morning found 2 adults + 1 juv. in green wrecks of scattered Sacaton grass + mesquite other grass was overgrazed. collected the ♀ which hung around w/ young. Other adult (♂?) flew off as I approached. ♀ had stage 3 brood patch, out ovary looked like she probably would lay another clutch - several 2 mm. ova + others slightly smaller.
