LCWolf 1963 Cassidix mexicanus July 18 around + south - Culiacan, Sinaloa. Grackles very common on fences + at edges of puddles or in grass along road. As many or more M than & &, but & & may be on nests. Saw some trees with 10+ & (trees 10-15 feet tall - shrubby) + what appeared to be about an equal number of nests. If these really were nests it would seem that the sex ratio in this area is close to 1:1 or at least of those birds seen from the road. Saw no obviously young birds so probably breeding just started.
