Down in shaded + heavily wooded stream bottom just off Pan Am Hwy found adult m., imm. m., + one f.
Three adult m's were performing courtship display. Consists of fluttering 12+ inches from perch just above ground. As reach peak + start back to perch (not sure if return to original perch) utter a 3-part call - J L . Two more seen.
Also watched one adult + one immature m. (green, but with red crown patch) performing same display but 15+ feet aboveground. f I collected was apparently flying toward these two displaying birds.
When three males were performing together there seemed to be alternation of times to flutter up. Often two would be near peak together + 3rd either just starting or just finishing, but never all three at once.
Area is open near ground except for vines hanging from trees. Trees average 40-50 feet tall. Several are 75-100 feet.
f turned out to be an immature m.
