LLW0/4 1963 Tilmatia depontii August 2 20 mi. SE Morelia, Michoacans took a pair along road thru oak-woodland, scrubby 2nd growth. When collected were about 4-6" apart, facing each other. Hovering ~12-18" above road + moving back & forth horizontally thru distance of ~1 foot. All time facing each other. Not making any audible noise except sound of wings. Watched this for ~10 sec. before collecting. Probably the courtship. Saw as movements suggesting are such as in Archilochns. Likely the are is used by species in which only the ♂ is the active partner.
