July 29 Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico
Began running about 2120 last night. But was clear when we got up
at 0500. After breakfast drove out to Cerro de Lobos. Arrived at
0545 as beginning to get light. Checked Aimophila humeruli nest-
leg hatched. Then went uphill on east - being slow to work my first day
on A. humeruli. Sun on that part of hill by 0630. Saw groups of
three birds twice today. The Plain Chatlacers are especially vociferous today.
1st yr. & Varied Bunting has several song purchases in one where I have.
Back to car where took pictures of several nests + canyon. Dick came in
at 1445. We went back to stream bottom where he showed me what was
guest with how hard living +
(probably an Aimophila humeruli nest - guest with how hard living +
contained one cracked, white egg. Then caught one swift.
Back to Cuernavaca where prepared specimens, supper, notes, etc.
Day was clear to partly cloudy, but sunny all day.
