Watched A. humeralis not for short time at 1045. Froze on nest when I & looked. G approached to 25 yds downhill + gave pit-a call several times. Then flew off nest + joined G where I chattered. Did not see either bird again when left area at 1145. Looked at Spotted when nest + found young covered with bot flies. Collected & + took young. Had earlier taken other young + one egg didn't hatch. Just as we were leaving a ? Blue Grosbeak flew up from edge of road. Collected her as first observation of the species in the canyon.
Back to Cuernavaca when spent rest of day preparing birds. Wrote note to Dr. Miller requesting more not labels.
To bed at 2030.

Walked in area of cardilcabra + tree Opuntia, Acacia, grass, + cornfields. Along nearly dry streambed flushed Ixra + [Icterus spurius] Ground Doves (Columba), Rufous-backed Robin, Ammodite ruficauda + humeralis. Collected a Centurus hypopolius from a tree Opuntia. Crossed stream + walked along cornfields + 1-2 foot dry brush cover. Worked uphill thru cornfields. Mostly A. humeralis where bush cover 100% apart when shrubs & trees.
