LL Wolf 1964 Journal June 20 Boykin Springs, Jasper Co., Texas into park. Found nest + collected σ♀ fledgling. Back to camp + off for short swim. Then back to prepare specimens. Had supper, wrote notes + folded at 2000. First heard Common Nighthawk at 1857. Minimum temp - 72°F. at 0500 Max temp. - 94°F. June 21 Boykin Springs, Jasper Co., Texas Up at 0500. Temp. min at 69°F. Had a quick breakfast + then into field. Went back to watch Pinewoods Sparrows to get more data on nest-building. Dick was to take tape recorder + drive around trying to find singing Pinewoods Sparrows. I had no luck with #1 pair + finally went to look at nest. Found it apparently completed. Did not see ♀. Heard another σ singing so over to try to map its territory. Soon found (flushed) a very excited ♀. Spent until 1030 following this pair around. Finally located a fledgling in under a shrub. Caught this bird + parents stayed for slightly less than 2 hours when Dick returned. He + I managed to get both parents. Back to camp for lunch + prepare specimens. Dick went for quick swim while I finished birds. Went back out to see where Dick had been in morning. Turn to E (right) on R63 toward Jasper then left at first dirt road. When
