June 19 Boykin Springs, Jasper Co., Texas
Took time out for lunch. By 6000 the wind is strong enough to sway pines back & forth. This afternoon the gusts were not quite as strong as yesterday when saw dust continually blew away. In morning & thru afternoon clouds are continually blowing in from SE; they repeated shadowed the sun & with the breeze it is very pleasant. Bugs are not bad except for a few little gnats.
After shinning caught up on notes & failed some specimens away. Went for short swim & got 5 gallons of water. Back to camp where made supper. Then wrote notes.
Tonight there are only a few wispy clouds, but the breeze is still blowing.
First heard the Chimney Swifts at 1840.
First Common Nighthawks at 1902.

Found & building another nest 100 yards to sw. Watched this pair until 1030. Discovered there in mother or across the road, Counter singing between 9-9?
Back to camp to prepare birds & have lunch. About 1545 went back out to survey area more. Found Pine-woods Sparrows along pine-clad hill side when looked on way
