Khwolf 1963 Journal August 21 Oaxaca, Oaxaca to Cuernavaca, Morelos. Were unable to obtain one. Heard twigs creaking from holes in road at tank + saw two adults fly out. One appeared to drop a fecal sac soon after emerging. Perhaps this is a small nesting colony. Continued north stopping in Atotonilco + Izucar de Matamoros, Puebla, for food. Took road from Matamoros to Cuautla, Morelos: Just beyond Chutla when road is unpaved we saw at least 3 Sieber's lizards feeding in weeds along road. This area is mostly cut up for farming with some lying fallow + growing up in weeds. Road from Morelos border to Cuernavaca paved, but spots are full of holes. Arrived Cuernavaca at 1700 + took room at Villa International. August 22 Cuernavaca, Morelos to 12mi. E. Zitacuaro, Michoacan Up at 0530. Drove out to Canon de Lobos where had breakfast & it was getting light. Spent until 0900 collecting on wooded + shrubby hillides for Acmophile humeralis. I walked to east along stream + came back up to road in one of open ligume shrubs. Found Acmophila ruficauda in this area. As walked back along road to car, A. humeralis became common as vegetation became denser + understory more composed of dicots than grasses. ruficauda +humerals
