LLWOF 1968 Journal August 14 Tehuantepa, Oaxaca sularis? postulatus have full grown young. Found nest with 5 white eggs which probably belongs to a Greater-billed Ani. Chist Tomorrow. Groups of 4-10 Orange-fronted Parakeets flying 40-60 feet above forest canopy. Saw several flights of Boot-tailed Grackles pass overhead. Had several adult ?? leading a group of 10-20 ? & possibly young. Were giving call which sounded somewhat like the parrots. Each of us saw a flock of Migrant Dickcups. Spent afternoon preparing specimens. Then wrote notes. Went into forest in evening to see a fiesta. Turned out to be fast advance so came back to Hotel + to bed. August 15 Tehuantepa, Oaxaca, Mexico Up at 0600. Drive to 5 mi. E. of Tehuantepec & parked by sign "Rancho a Tempa". Began searching for Seminchest Sparrow & discovered that the ? was just beginning nest in small shrub near road. Watched nest-building until 0745. Then out to collect. Found bird from nest just above ground. Had to wait for about 1 hour for bird to go back to nest & it was a Semichest Sparrow. Nest had 1 egg + 1 young. Collected ot at nest area & took nest, shrub, & nest contents.
