LL Wolf 1963 Journal July 26 - contd. Took this road ~ 1 mile + stopped for night right along road. Prepared Jay, had supper after writing notes. Collected a Mottled Owl that came in to squeek. July 27 17 mi. NW Menzaniello, Colima to Autlan, Jalisco. up at 0630. Had breakfast then stayed around camp to watch tent + car while John walked along road toward ocean. Saw Sinaloa when building a nest at extremity of branch 20 feet up in dense, shrubby second growth. John returned with a Short-tailed Hawk that he shot after it came in to squeek. We picked car + drove to highway. Here collected 4 Armophila nigricauda in legumes along road. One was around small hill in cornfield - as legumes, but several pile of sticks + grass relatively tall. Drove back toward La Huerta, Jalisco. Noticed that most of the permanent water courses are being choked out by water hyacinthus. Area along highway has many coconut + banana fincas. Stopped at 6 ai. sw La Huerta + took one of 2 birds seen in gray area. Found more [illegible] in legumes along fences NE of La Huerta. Climbed hills SW of Autlan + stopped for
