LLWOLF 1963 51 Journal July 15 on road at km 1812 marker. followed in straight for mile - good isolated, camping spot. Prepared young Curve-billed Thrasher giving up by boys at Rio Yaguis. Out to check on Rufous-winged while Johnna finished preparing two birds. Collected six - 2 & 9, both cangalis nest 1 of ruptured fricelles. Found one nest. Had supper, set up camp t went to bed. July 16 27 mi S. Ciudad Obregon, Sonora Mexico km 1812. Had light shower at x 0900 last night. Then about 0330 heavy rain + strong wind. Finally blew tent down at 0400 John & I spent until 0530 in car waiting for rain to let tup. Had breakfast rinto field - John to record 1 on 6s observx. John reported a & Rufous-winged Sparrow just starting to build nest so I watched her from 0730 to 0930. Put out things to dry + put up tarpaulin as shade as clouds mostly gone t it is gang to be another hot day. Hunted from 1500 to 1145. Got & cangalis + 1 Gila Woodpecker. Found a & cangalis incubating four eggs. Gila Woodpecker was from group of 4+ hanging around an organ-pipe cactus. Spent afternoon preparing specimens + getting equipment in order after rains. Checked on nest-building cangalis - no activity. John went out to look for < Curve-billed Thrasher. I wrote notes Back out about 1630 for more Rufous-wings. cangalis 9+2 Second to be more easily chased into piers than in A M.
